May letter

Dear everyone,
First of all, thank you to everyone who has given such a tremendous support over the last two months. Just now, I am unable to respond individually, but simply want to say how moved we have been by the tributes to Pauline, your prayers and your personal support which has given us a great deal of comfort in our loss.
Many say ‘be very gentle with yourself,’ or ‘don’t try and do too much. Take your time, and have plenty of rest.’ This is all good advice in a time of great adjustment.
Others may say,’ call in and see us and have a coffee or a meal with us,’ or ‘if there is any way in which we can help please let us know.’
It seems to me that it is important, wherever possible, to take up the help offers that other people want to give: not only for our own sake, but also for the sake of people are that offer too. It helps them to feel part of what is happening to us.
Equally important though, through our ‘giving’ and ‘taking’, we help to strengthen what real community and friendship is all about, and it give us some idea what it really means for people to be-‘the salt of the earth.’
